Barriers and retractable hydraulic automatic bollards at the Pile – Dubrovnik location
At the beginning of June, PENTA implemented a system for controlling the passage of vehicles for the City of Dubrovnik. On the Pile plateau, retractable hydraulic automatic bollards and parking barriers with an arm's length of 4m and 6m were installed and successfully put into operation. After the completion of the project, the training of the Client's staff for preventive maintenance of the delivered and installed equipment was held.
The city of Dubrovnik decided to install an access control system with bollards and barriers on the location Pile to prevent auto taxis and other carriers from reaching the area intended for bus stops or from illegally stopping and staying on the plateau. It is an important traffic hub of the city of Dubrovnik, which is located at the western entrance to old Dubrovnik and is the busiest part of the city.
Penta implemented the system after the public procurement procedure. The works included installing barriers on prepared concrete foundations, installing equipment, servicing existing bollards, connecting, testing, and then putting the system into operation. The supplied automatic barriers have a modern and elegant design that fits perfectly into any architectural context and is ideal for intensive use.
Retractable hydraulic automatic bollards are cylindrical elements with a high degree of shock resistance. They are placed in buried housing and are used for traffic regulation. They do not obstruct pedestrians' passage or disturb the appearance of city centres. They are used to prevent passage in city centres, squares with limited vehicle traffic, pedestrian zones, and residential districts, i.e., in all locations where it is not possible to deliver one of the classic systems, such as barriers.
