On the occasion of celebrating territorial cooperation, only a week after Budapest, Koprivnica commemorated start of the first public service for the transport by bicycles. It`s the project where Hungary and Croatia, cities of Budapest and Koprivnica with successful cooperation enabled the realization of project, financing mostly from the EU funds - IPA CBP Hungary - Croatia.

Bike sharing system is intuitive and simple to use, it`s available and free of charge during the first year of pilot project. BICKO system of public bicycles consists of sixty (60) bicycles, seven (7) stands and it is available for use during the entire week in the period from 06:00-00:00.

Bicko.bike website was developed also under the project, website where new and existing users log into the system, catch up all news, browse map and the use of bicycles at each location, but also there`s possibility of marketing - promotion and informing all interested parties.

This kind of systems aren`t a novelty and european cities are already increasingly introducing it. Bike sharing systems are becoming an indispensable part of public transport for citizens, tourists and all kind of visitors. Their contribution for increase of city`s tourist attractiveness is outstanding because this kind of systems allow visitors comfortable, eco-friendly driving but also possibility for sightseeing.
