On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Wespa spaces in Zagreb, we held an open day for the Smart Eco Parking project.

The event was attended by representatives of the project partner companies PENTA (Pula), SENSUM (Rijeka) and 3 E PROJEKTI (Zagreb), and after the media conference, a B2B event was held where we discussed with visitors the implementation of solutions for their needs and presented the project in more detail.

About the project

The SMART ECO PARKING project brings intelligent transport solutions for urban traffic and parking while simultaneously encouraging the development of green infrastructure and reducing the impact of climate change in urban areas.

It represents the transition of the previous urban mobility through the innovative service "SMART ECO PARKING" and the innovative product "SMART PARKING", which influence the creation of smart solutions to improve traffic and mobility in urban areas, cause less congestion and enable more efficient use of traffic and green infrastructure, and will result in reduced emission of harmful gases and environmental pollution.

SMART ECO PARKING will positively impact climate change, increase mobility, reduce congestion, enable more efficient transport infrastructure use, develop green infrastructure, and introduce NBS solutions. The project is harmonized with EU regulations on traffic regulation and the Smart Specialization Strategy of the Republic of Croatia, and the Green Infrastructure Development Program in urban areas for the period from 2021 to 2030.

Concrete innovative solutions

Behind the project are three SMEs, each offering and supplementing this innovative service and product in their own field of activity; The company PENTA d.o.o. provides services in the field of managing intelligent transport solutions and systems and parking management with an emphasis on solutions in urban areas, SENSUM d.o.o. provides services in the field of climate change with a focus on the mobility and urban transport sector, and 3 E PROJEKTI d.o.o. provide services in the area of spatial, landscape planning, architecture and landscape architecture with an emphasis on urban green infrastructure.

The project will be implemented with the support of the integrator ECORYS HRVATSKA d.o.o. from Zagreb.

Establishing a supplier relationship allows the integrator more excellent added value and more significant market representation in such a way that it offers not only analysis and solution proposals but also concrete innovative technological solutions and a new, multidisciplinary methodology.

A unique solution in the international market

By analyzing the existing transport solutions on the market, the companies, in addition to traffic growth, environmental pollution, the appearance of negative aspects of climate change and the shortcomings of systematic parking management using intelligent solutions, also encountered the problem of the sustainability of urban areas due to the inefficient use of intelligent green infrastructure.

Currently, there are individual solutions for the sustainability of transport and regulation of parking on the international market. Still, they need compatible functionality that would fully satisfy the mentioned shortcomings, i.e. protect the urban area and the environment, increase the sustainability of traffic, facilitate the operations of parking system operators and help drivers as end users.

For the public and private sector

In addition to the Croatian market, the Smart Eco Parking solution will also be available in the regional market of neighbouring countries (BiH, Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia) and the international European market. SMART ECO PARKING is intended for units of local and regional administration and self-government, communal and trading companies, shopping centres, business zones, hotels and resorts hotels and marinas - in other words, public institutions that manage parking spaces or private facilities with large parking areas.

The total project value is HRK 5,229,742.70, of which HRK 2,473,328.25 are grants allocated through the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020. from the European Fund for Regional Development, based on the "Integrator" call for project proposals.
