PENTA's presentation at the Career Day of Istrian University of Applied Sciences

On Monday, 3rd March, a Career Day was held at the METRIS Center of the Istrian University of Applied Sciences, attended by students, lecturers, and company representatives from various sectors, including STEM, tourism, and entrepreneurship. In order to further increase employment opportunities for students and build quality professional contacts, the Istrian University of Applied Sciences organised its first Career Day. It was our great pleasure to respond to the invitation and present to the students the possibilities of cooperation, namely employment, professional practice and internship.

In her presentation, Penta employee Andrea Mihaljevic Pulic introduced everyone present to the company's business and development path, presented the urban solutions we are developing and which are driving the development of more automated, sustainable and intelligent cities, and finally highlighted several interesting projects, successfully delivered solutions for urban mobility - on the one hand related to moving traffic (public urban transport), and on the other hand, stationary traffic (parking), as well as research and development projects financed from EU funds. At the very end of the presentation, she pointed out that Penta allows students to become part of a team, starting with professional practice, and it is the experience of concrete practice that brings an advantage in later employment. She emphasised that through internships or working under a student contract, students gain insight into the business environment, teamwork, and project dynamics that await them after completing their studies. A positive atmosphere, togetherness, flexibility and creating a culture in which it is desirable to demonstrate one's abilities are additional advantages that Penta employees repeatedly emphasise. In the second part of the program, Penta employees Dina Jorgic and Eric Ostoni from the development department shared with the students their positive experiences of implementing internships and working on a student contract.

It is known that for young people in the labour market, the problem of lack of work experience is an obstacle to finding their first job. However, the experience of concrete practice removes this obstacle and gives them the opportunity to acquire it, and later provides an advantage when hiring. Investing in human resources is also an investment in young people, who are educated, creative and innovative staff who influence the improvement of the company's business. During the day, students had the opportunity to make contacts with employers in the METRIS space, where, in addition to Penta, Uljanik Tesu Elektronika - UTE d.o.o., Aminess d.d., Maistra d.d., Sistema d.o.o., Calucem d.o.o., Indi d.o.o., Navela d.o.o. and Royal IHC were presented to them.
