In late May 2015, implementation of the access control system (pneumatic lifting columns, surveillance and OCR systems for license plate recognition) was realized for City of Dubrovnik. Company Penta doo Pula conducted the process of system implementation, but company Tehnogradnja made preparatory construction works. 

The system introduced at Pile consists of two lifting columns/bollards Strabuc 918 series in stainless steel design, two traffic lights, two cameras for video surveillance and OCR camera for license plate recognition.

The system should provide Sanitat doo Dubrovnik better insight into the circulation of tourist buses that stop at Pile, but also to check whether the buses are hired by travel agencies that have debts towards the City of Dubrovnik. 

Furthermore, customers who realize payments in a timely manner will be able to smoothly pass over place Pile, while for the buses of travel agencies that have not met their obligations to the City of Dubrovnik, passage will be blocked.
