"Climate Friendly Camp" project: recycling machines on the island of Krk

Last week, the equipment of the "Climate Friendly Camp" project was delivered to the Camping Glavotok on the island of Krk, namely two recycling machines, a water dispenser, a meteorological station, a composter, and the adaptation of the equipment for data collection and connection to the digital platform, i.e. web and mobile application, is underway, which will monitor water consumption, the number of recycled packaging, air quality and the amount of biodegradable waste for composting as well as the amount of compost produced and thus ultimately calculate the consumption and savings of CO2. The aforementioned activities are part of the first phase of the project - industrial research, a phase that ends on November 30, 2024, by which time we will have the initial data collected and the status of the first tests in a test environment, after which we will move to the phase of experimental development and testing of the innovative business model and applications in a real environment.

As a reminder, the "Climate Friendly Camp" project was co-financed with grants under the call "Strengthening sustainability and encouraging the green and digital transition of entrepreneurs in the tourism sector" within group 3, "Encouraging the development of products and services and business models in ecosystems in the tourism value chain that contribute green and digital transition and solving key challenges in the tourism sector" (NPOO). The project represents an innovative business model that contributes to solving key challenges in tourism, especially in reducing the risk of climate change and green and digital transition. The project aims to research and develop an innovative application and business model that reduces CO2 emissions, minimises environmental impact, increases resistance to the risks of climate change, and prioritises circular tourism and smarter management of resources. The partners in the project are the companies Penta, Kamp Glavotok, 3E projekti and Sensum, and the completion of the "Climate Friendly Camp" project is planned for June next year.
